Niort, a town with 60 000 inhabitants offers exceptional surroundings to receive the photographers. They will be put up in the heart of the city at the foot of a medieval dungeon on the banks of the Sevre River. They will be advised by famous photographers in the artistic and technical fields, as well as by members of the "Pour L'Instant" Association in order to stimulate exchanges, creations, ideas and experiments. The candidates' portfolios will be judged by an impressive panel of technical and aesthetic critics, the curator of the Niort museum, and by various personalities from the world of photography. The artists may choose the amount and size of their photos, however, they must adhere to the following guidelines : an explanation of the prospective photographer's artistic view or views, a Curriculum Vitae, and some representative examples of his or her work.

Lodging and boarding will be sponsored by the association along with the cost of equipment needed to create art during the stay. The artwork created during the stay will be added to our eleven years old art collection. Photo negatives will remain the property of the photographers and works from non-selected candidates will be returned in June.
